THE SPARK UNFOLDING BOOK CLUB THE GARDEN AT THE END OF THE WILDERNESS A FORTY-DAY READING JOURNEY By Dr. Sherry-Ann Brown This devotional schedule is flexible. It does not promise transformation on a deadline. Pause, combine days, or choose another pace as needed. DAY 1 — Read the opening at the locked gate. Notice one threshold you cross routinely. DAY 2 — Read the first blossom scene. Look at one living thing without photographing it. DAY 3 — Read the chapter on sight. Name one beauty and one hazard in the same environment. DAY 4 — Read the community meal chapter. Give thanks for named forms of labor behind one safe meal. DAY 5 — Read “Work It and Keep It.” Complete one maintenance task whose value will remain mostly unseen. DAY 6 — Read the mountain chapter. Distinguish a burden that belongs to you from one that should be shared. DAY 7 — Review the biblical forties. Let each event retain its distinct context. DAY 8 — Read the storm and daily-bread scenes. Check one practical provision. DAY 9 — Read beside the river. Name one direction requiring change and one possible action.
